Notes and decisions based on playtesting and beta

  • Keep certain arrow directions to certain lanes to make it more clear what to hit
  • Player moving while attacking is confusing and people think they have to meet with arrows
    • Either make that the actual mechanic or restrict movement during attacking phase
    • Playtesting the above to see which is better
  • Updated graphics with new beat indicator, arrow images, damage effects, healthbar
  • Add indicators during attacking phase to telegraph which attack is coming since it was hard to see before
  • Updated tutorial to be more interactive and slow
  • Fixed bugs
  • Add animations and updated graphics for the judgement line
  • Updated animations to make them snappier and easier to tell the beat from again
  • Fixed joystick sensitivity
  • Removed some penalties for moving/attacking when nothing was happening, making user reluctant to try things

  • New levels/enemy behaviour
  • Level progression meter
  • Make cutscenes
  • Have adjustable beat threshold
  • Make player contrast more
  • New art for judgement line
